Trauma Support Services
The West Yorkshire Trauma Network treats a huge number of complex trauma cases – from work accidents to road traffic incidents. Four years ago, a leading trauma orthopaedic consultant, based at the Major Trauma Centre in Leeds, established in partnership with patients a support service called Day One to help victims of major trauma on the road to recovery.
Day One is a support and signposting service providing emotional and practical assistance for major trauma patients and their families including:
Whether you’re being treated at the Major Trauma Centre in Leeds or have been moved to one of the five regional trauma units to continue your recovery, Day One is there for you and your family. For further information and to access any of the Day One services, please contact the Day One Case Worker Justin Phelps on: 07375 113044 or visit www.leeds-cares.org/dayone
