LTHT SOP on Reversal of anti-coagulation in TBI
This SOP is applicable to adult patients over the age of 18 who are newly presenting to Leeds Teaching Hospitals with head trauma and who are on an anticoagulant or antiplatelet drug. It has been created to ensure that patients with significant TBI have the effects of anticoagulant or antiplatelet (including asprin) medications rapidly reversed. At the time of writing (March 2021) it has not been adopted across the network. Network advice for TU clinicians is to discuss individual cases with your haematology team.
