Neurosurgical Referral
NEUROSURGICAL ONLINE REFERRAL
LEEDS TEACHING HOSPITALS HAVE INTRODUCED A NEW ONLINE REFERRAL SYSTEM
The new system can be accessed (from NHS networked computers only) at https://patientpass.leedsth.nhs.uk/
Registration requires an NHS email - all Trauma Unit email addresses should work as well as the generic nhs.net address
We'd recommend that you register as soon as you can (so that when you need it you're all set to go).
All clear cut immediately life threatening conditions requiring transfer to the major trauma centre should be managed as any immediate trauma transfer would be. It is vital to liaise with the on-call neurosurgical registrar at the LGI as soon as possible - some of these patients may for example be directed straight to theatre on arrival.
REDUNDANT Non immediate referrals are best made using the online referral system that can be found at www.leedsneurosurgery.com. Using this route ensures an accurate record of the referral and guidance provided is maintained and can be placed in the patient's notes. REDUNDANT
