Patients who have been admitted to a TU ward or critical care environment prior to the need for MTC care being recognised should be transferred from the TU in-patient bed to the MTC in-patient bed unless:
  1. no bed is available and a time critical intervention is required in which case they may be transferred to the MTC ED
  2. the patient is unstable and would benefit from ED review by the full trauma team on arrival at the MTC
